Dedicated to those who perished in the September 11 attacks, as well as those who survived them, 100 Ways To Strengthen & Unify Our Country by Jenniffer Lee is a straightforward and inspiring book of one hundred simple, practical, effective, commonplace and extraordinary things Americans can do to bolster our nation. From volunteering one's time to a community cause, to reviving the family dinner, to donating books/magazines, to offering a smile, the simple ideas in this book challenge the reader to change his or her life and daily behavior so the nation and the world will prosper in peace, freedom, and unity. A highly recommended collection of powerful and moving thoughts, and to demonstrate the intent of its author, $1.00 per sale of each copy of 100 Ways To Strengthen & Unify Our Country will be donated to charity.

How to Help the United States in the New Year Published on: December 28, 2001 Author: Niki Ann Taylor As the year draws to a close, the major event of 2001 was 9-11. Major patriotism resulted, and this week's book discusses how to make the most of our American citizenship. 100 Ways To Strengthen and Unify Our Country by Jenniffer Lee lists a hundred tasks we Americans can do to build a stronger America. These tasks range from visiting museums to tutoring a child. As Lee explains, "Our country as a whole is strengthened each time a member of the community grows stronger and develops new skills. We must work together to help every American be as strong and skilled as possible. This also builds what I call the bridges of giving and receiving. We can all be linked together merely by being givers and receivers." Lee mentions the events of 9-11 in the book, and $1 per book is donated to charity. Particularly important now is her advice to support our military:"Support our military. They are the men and women of this country who are willing to risk their lives fighting for freedom and our way of life. They are brave and skilled. They deserve our support, our respect, and our thanks. Commitment to military service requires sacrifices from those who serve, as well as their families. If you know of a way to help these people, do so. Even if you do not agree with a particular military action, support your military. They are dedicated personnel who are following the commands of others and doing their jobs. If you feel the need to speak out against a particular action, which is your right as an American, be sure your comments are about the action you dispute, and not towards the military personnel who are doing their job. And don't forget, the military is dedicated to protecting our freedom, including our right to speak out about military action. Supporting our military personnel strengthens our country. They are the bold people dedicated to protecting our country, our way of life, and our freedom. Support them and their families in any way you can." This book is short but full of good advice. It reminds us in cynical times how we can be patriotic even in the simplest ways. The last chapter asks us to think of our own ways to help our country and emailing or mailing them to Lee. My suggestion is that we make a New Year's resolution to be generous to each other the entire year, not just during the holiday season.

This is a very helpful book for all those that are looking for some way to make a difference. You don't have to go out and do something huge to make a difference. Give someone a few cents if they're short in the checkout line, especially if it's a child. Say hello to someone. Wish a teller, clerk, cashier, etc a good day with a smile. Tell someone they did a good job, or you like their necklace, shirt....You get the idea. This book is the right size to take with you on commutes, or to the dentist or doctor's office to read while in the waiting room. It's a quick, easy read for those that like the feeling of accomplishment at having read a whole book somewhat quickly. It's a good book to read with your child, or let your child read to you.

This book serves as a handy and useful reference for doing the often simple and small acts of good citizenship that are truly the means by which our society can achieve unity. Neighborly interactions are often neglected in our frantic, fast-paced lives, and our society has been very fractured. Jenniffer Lee's book, 100 Ways to Strengthen & Unify Our Country, reminds us of many simple activities that can bring Americans together, and when Americans come together, America is stronger.

Need Inspiration? I loved this book because I found it inspirational at a time when I needed a little inspiration. We should all look for ways to help our country and our fellow Americans and this book provides 100 suggestions in essay format. I found it to be easy to read and even appropriate to read with children, who can also benefit from these suggestions. For anyone who needs a lift and loves our country, I reccommend it highly! I know I will read some of chapters several more times and will always keep it close at hand.

Highly Recommended. I would recommend this book for anyone. I liked it so much that I gave it to my friends, my daughter and her husband, and my grandchildren. I think it is beneficial for children, as well as adults, because it shows how people should think, act, and be. It is an easy and upbeat read.

I love this book! If you love people, America, getting involved, or just feeling good, you will love this book! It clearly shows how simple acts of kindness can translate into waves of change. Most of the suggestions are quite easy to do but not even given any thought. I have already ordered extra copies for all of my friends and all of my employees too.
We will be adding other reviews, so check back later! If you have seen a review not listed here, please e-mail us with when and where you saw it. Thank you!
